The
AMIA Archival Screening Night provides conference participants with
an opportunity to showcase recent acquisitions and preservation
efforts.
CRITERIA
1.
New preservation work.
2. Footage from new discoveries or acquisitions of historical interest.
3. Each screening entry must not exceed six (6) min. This includes
the introduction of the material by the presenter.
4. No submission will be accepted that serves as promotional material
for your organization.
5. Entries to screen material on DVD that was originated on a higher
quality medium (e.g. film or broadcast standard VT) will, as a general
rule of thumb and with all other factors being equal, be given lower
priority for selection than entries that can be screened in a format
that better communicates the technical integrity of the original.
However, we will of course recognize and take into account the fact
that some smaller institutions with entries to offer that are of
major cultural significance may not be in a financial position to
be able to supply a better quality format than DVD.
6. As
the theatre for this year's Archival Screening Night is equipped
to screen 70mm film, we would like to make the most of this rare
opportunity by especially welcoming entries on 70mm.
The call
for entries for Archival Screening Night 2011 has now closed.
Many thanks to everyone who has entered a film. We have received
significantly more entries than there are screening slots for, and
therefore, sadly, we will not be able to select everyone's entry.
We will make the selections according to the criteria, and hope
to be in touch with everyone during the week commencing October
17 at the latest.
The program will be posted on AMIA's website after the event,
and we look forward to seeing you at ASN in Austin!
